The Weekend Binge: What’s New To Stream? Barbie Dreamhouse 🏠 Challenge, Wilt Chamberlain 🏀 Doc, A Vampire 🧛♀️ Comedy, A YA 💗 Story, Soderbergh’s New Series
Barbiecore Has Entered The Stream 🎀
In the profound words of Glenn Frey, the heat is on this weekend 🔥 and not just in temps, but the (heat)wave of new series and films streaming this weekend is almost suffocating. Looks like Sunday Funday will be spent brunching 🍳 🥂 and bingeing TV.
A few must-sees this weekend…if you’re an Imagine Dragons fan, their Live in Vegas music documentary is now streaming on Hulu. Also on Hulu, a new season of What We Do In The Shadows — the only vampire show I actually like, (I’m not a fan of vampires - yawnfest!). The first two episodes of the new season dropped and the writers never seem to lose their creative flow with this series. It’s consistently funny. What will you be streaming this weekend? Keep strolling for my weekend pick and I’m still on a Trader Joe’s (under $10) white wine kick so see what I’m sipping below!

Sip & Stream 🍷 📺: Villa Molino Classico x Jury Duty
I’m finally going to dive into Jury Duty which I’ve heard nothing but (not good) GREAT things. It’s an eight-episode series that follows the inner-workings of an American jury trial through the eyes of Ronald Gladden, a juror who is unaware the entire case is fake. Everything is staged. Everyone (the judge, the jurors, the plaintiff) except Gladden is an actor including Dead to Me’s James Marsden who also plays a juror. Jury Duty is currently streaming on Amazon’s free streaming platform Freevee. It’s been nominated for four Emmys — Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (James Marsden), and Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series and has been named one of the five best TV shows of 2023 by IMDB.
This is the season where I start promoting my favorite white wines. I’m a red wine girl and it’s really hard for me to veer to the light side unless the weather permits and boy, this weekend it will permit. I love Italian wines — they are consistently good and they are attractively priced. I found this bottled for under $6 at Trader Joe’s. My sister JJ will love the dachshund on the label, but I love the subtle taste of pear, peach, citrus and green apples. It’s not too sweet and yet not too dry. Kind of like the Goldilocks of wine. On the nose you’ll smell a bit of jasmine with some floral notes. I paired it with some salmon and a mediterranean orzo pasta. Bravissimo! 👏
Happy Streaming! 🍷 📺
