Back in my early writing days when I attended UCLAās Screenwriting Program, I learned how to be a reader ā as in reading screenplays. My instructor was OBSESSED with Alfred Hitchcock, so the entire class was about Hitchcock ā reading his scripts, watching his films, and learning all the allegories and imagery that were present in each film. I remember The Lady Vanishes was his favorite film. I have not watched it since I screened it in class, but if you click the āTCMā hub on Max (Turner Classic Movies), youāll see the 1938 film streaming there.

The only background music in the film is at the beginning and the end of the movie.
