This weekend binge contains some hard goodbyes. For fans of The Umbrella Academy and SEAL Team, this is the last hurrah for both series as they drop their final seasons this weekend. Another goodbye is the 2024 Paris Olympics 🇫🇷 which will have their closing ceremonies on August 11. The Olympics will say goodbye to Paris and hello to Los Angeles, Summer 2028. Who’s looking forward to seeing what stunt Tom Cruise has in store to pass the torch to L.A.?
Motorcycle Mania 🏍️
Two movies premiere this weekend about motorcycles. Both star young actors making waves in Hollywood — Austin Butler of Elvis fame and K.J. Apa of the former hit series Riverdale. The Bikeriders and One Fast Move show the different sides of life in the fast lane with one focusing on a motorcycle gang and the other competitive motorcycle racing.

I really enjoyed the 2024 Paris Olympics. I loved the use of the city’s most notable landmarks as backdrops for the events. I know there was a lot of controversy over the opening ceremonies. Luckily I’m not easily offended by things, especially when it comes to art and theatre. I loved all the wins by the gymnastics teams, women’s skateboarding, track and field, and swimming. There are some incredibly memorable memes that came out of the games. Gold for whoever made these up…
And did you catch USA’s synchronized swimming to Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal”? They moonwalked underwater.
I am looking forward to Sunday’s closing ceremonies. Apparently Tom Cruise is supposed to do some sort of skydiving stunt off the Hollywood sign to pass the Summer Olympics 2028 onto Los Angeles.
Hopefully a better stunt than jumping on Oprah’s couch. The closing ceremonies are on NBC and Peacock live at 2pm est and hosted by Jimmy Fallon.
