‘Maisel’ Adds Five Celebrity Guest Stars To Final Season
Fans will see some familiar faces on the upcoming fifth and final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Darren Criss (Glee, The Assassination of Gianni Versace), Hank Azaria (Brockmire, The Birdcage), two-time Tony award-winner Sutton Foster (The Music Man), Danny Strong (creator of Dopesick), and Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) will all make appearances. David Paymer will also be returning as Harry Drake. The final season premieres on April 14 with the first three episodes and new episodes following every Friday. The series finale will air on May 26 on Amazon Prime.
Orlando Bloom Adapting Novel ‘This Must Be The Place’ For Amazon Prime
Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean, Carnival Row) is set to star and produce an adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s novel ‘This Must Be The Place’. Bloom will play an American linguist from NYC living in the Irish countryside who is married to a reclusive Anglo-French actress. This story jumps time and continents to reveal the power of love and how the choices of our past can have unexpected consequences in our present. Suzanne Heathcote, a showrunner for Killing Eve, will write and produce the adaptation.
‘This is Us’ Sterling K. Brown To Star In Hulu Drama Series
Sterling K. Brown is reuniting with This is Us producer Dan Fogelman for a drama/thriller series for Hulu. While details of the series are still under wraps, Brown will play the head of security for a former United States president. He will also star in another upcoming Hulu series, Washington Black, a story that follows the 19th century adventures of George Washington “Wash” Black, an 11-year old boy on a Barbados sugar plantation who must flee after a shocking death threatens to upend his life. Brown plays Medwin Harris, a larger-than-life character who learns to dream big again after going down a path of self-discovery once meeting Washington Black.
Ken Jeong To Star In Fox Comedy Series Based On Dan Harris’ 10% Happier
Dan Harris’ bestselling book '10% Happier’ is getting a new comedy series at FOX starring Ken Jeong. Jeong will star and produce this single-cam comedy about a family man and mid-level juice company executive who finds himself stuck in his life. After a panic attack at work, he realizes he needs to change his life in order to live 10% happier. The series is currently in development with Dan Harris producing and Michael Lisbe and Nate Refer as showrunners (the duo behind Acapulco at Apple TV+).
Anderson Cooper and ‘Dr. Death’ Creator Team Up For Series Based On Vanderbilts
Anderson Cooper’s book about his family ‘Vanderbilt: The Rise and Fall of an American Dynasty’ is getting the streaming treatment at Amazon Prime with a new series from the creator of Peacock’s Dr. Death. Patrick McManus, who also created Hulu’s A Girl From Plainville will produce the series with Cooper which is described as “an epic drama chronicling four hundred years of the rise and fall of one of America’s most powerful dynasties. From the family’s humble beginnings in New Amsterdam, patriarch Cornelius ‘Commodore’ Vanderbilt weaponized cunning, cutthroat business tactics to amass unimaginable wealth leading to power struggles between heirs over control, salacious scandals, and financial ruin. That is, until Gloria, the last of the Vanderbilts, rises above her family’s complicated history, and personal tragedy to pave her own path as an artist and fashion designer.”

Writers Phoebe Fisher and Sara Goodman, the duo behind Prime’s other teen Sarah Michelle Gellar-led adaptation I Know What You Did Last Summer are on board as showrunners.

It looks like that Harry Potter series that’s been brewing for years is finally looking close to closing a deal. The future series is pitched to be seven seasons, one for each of the Harry Potter books. The series would dedicate more hours to the world of Harry Potter by diving into details of the wizarding world, even more so than the films. More details hopefully will be announced soon once it gets the green light!

After signing on to star in the Zero Day series at Netflix, now the Oscar-winning actor will be heading to Paramount+ to star in a crime drama about an ex-cop turned prosecutor known as Bobby Meritorious. The series will be set in the Southern District of New York deep inside the U.S. attorney’s office where an informant dares to threaten the institution where only one man can stop him — that’s right, Bobby Meritorious.
