It’s the weekend, let’s binge!

While many of us on the west coast of the U.S.A. (I know people are reading this all over the world and I thank you sooo much for tuning in every week!!) are bracing for Hurricane Hillary 🌧️ , It could be the perfect weekend to stay inside and catch up on all those TV shows and movies you’ve been putting off. I’ll be honest, the weekend is looking a little light on new premieres —all the streaming platforms are holding out for fall (usually mid-late September) so take this time to catch up on new episodes of Only Murders in the Building, And Just Like That, Special Ops: Lioness, etc, etc. These are shows currently on my watchlist!

Netflix snatched this theatrical release in a hurry! Russell Crowe stars in this horror thriller as Gabriele Amorth, the Vatican’s leading exorcist. While investigating the possession of a child, he uncovers a conspiracy that the Vatican is trying to keep secret. The film was in theaters just this April. Running Time: 1 hour, 43 minutes. The Winter King

Love when MGM+ has a new series or documentary to premiere because more often than not it’s an enjoyable watch.  This historical drama is a sort of origin story of King Arthur. A former warrior, now monk, begins the story of Arthur who became the lord of war despite his illegitimacy to the throne. Series Premieres Sunday

Domaine Bousquet Natural Origins Organic Malbec 🍷 📦 x Interstellar 🌚

I’ve rarely met a Malbec I didn’t like, and this boxed wine is no exception. In addition to being organic, this 90 point wine in a box actually tastes really, really good. It’s a medium-bodied Malbec with black fruit and figs and a hint of cranberry and vanilla on the palate followed by a velvety finish. Do you have a list of movies that “got away”. I certainly do. Those movies that were wildly popular box office record-breakers or critic darlings that you never had a chance to see. With all the talk of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer in theaters now, I thought I would take time this weekend to stream his 2014 film Interstellar starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain. I remember why I didn’t see this film when it was in theaters, mostly because I’m not a huge fan of space movies. Interstellar is the story of a team of pioneers who undertake the most important mission in human history — to seek new frontiers in space to see if mankind has any future at all among the stars. Many call this film a masterpiece — I’ll see about that, LOL. Interstellar is now streaming on Paramount + with Showtime.
