Top 5 TV News Stories Of The Week - Ted Lasso Is Back! Sinead Sings Outlander, Starsky & Hutch Gets Reboot
Get Lasso’d Up and Believe….
Another exciting week in TV news and what better news to start off with than the return of Ted Lasso (insert little girl squeals here). Every time a season ends it feels like an eternity before the next one premieres mostly because what other show on television can fill our gray veins with sunshine? Outlander keeps on dropping lil’ bits of viral souvenirs to keep our kilts warm until the premiere of Outlanderlater this summer and who’s ready for another series about Candy Montgomery, the blessed-by-God housewife killer (I can’t say I’m mad about the casting in the upcoming HBO Max series).
Here’s What’s Happening This Week In TV….
Ted Lasso: Season 3 Will Premiere March 15
It’s really happening! Just Believe. Our favorite footies are back in the third and final season of Ted Lasso (grab the tissues!). The series will premiere on Apple TV+ on March 15. The first episode will land on Wednesday, March 15 (the first time ever Apple TV+ has premiered a show mid-week) followed by new episodes every Wednesday for a total of 12 episodes.
Elizabeth Chambers Inks Deal At Discovery For Show On Toxic Relationships
What better source of reporting on toxic relationships than Elizabeth Chambers, established business women and former wife of hottie turned hannibal, Armie Hammer. Chambers will host and executive produce a series that will explore the dynamics and complexities of toxic relationships and the trauma that follows through interviews with survivors and experts. The ID (Investigation Discovery) series hopes to empower victims through Chamber’s unique perspective.
Babylon Coming To Paramount+ In Time For Oscars
It’s countdown to Oscars and while most of the nominees are available to stream, there’s a few stragglers (come on The Whale and The Fabelmans!) that have yet to find a home for the masses. One of those films was Babylon, Damien Chazelle’s flamboyant and decadent retelling of Hollywood’s roaring 20s era starring Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt. The Oscar-nominated film will hit Paramount+ as soon as next week, just in time for the Oscars on March 12.Babylon is nominated for Best Original Score, Best Production Design and Best Costume Design.
True Blood, Silicon Valley Coming To TNT/TBS
Remember those two iconic series on HBO — True Blood and Silicon Valley? (please tell me all about them, I haven’t watched one episode) Well they are coming to more toned-down networks with church-friendly language and ix-nay on the sex-ay. Silicon Valley is headed to TBS and True Blood to TNT in a move from HBO where they will air edited episodes on basic cable networks (remember what they did with Sex and the City on TBS? Sammantha was basically a nun!). Both series will premiere on their networks Saturday, Feb. 18.
‘Tetris’ Gets Premiere Date At Apple TV+
So been waiting for this! Taron Egerton (Rocketman) and Toby Jones (Hunger Games) star in this biographical drama about an American and Russian computer geek who form an unlikely friendship as they try to evade the KGB and smuggle the world’s most famous video game out of the Soviet Union. Premieres March 31 on Apple TV+. Watch the newly released trailer above.

On Patrol Live! - Renewed for 90 more episodes (Reelz)
Poker Face - Renewed for Season 2 (Peacock)
The Mole - Renewed for Season 2 (Netflix)
Save The Date - April 21 - Dead Ringers: Series Premiere (Amazon Prime)
Rachel Weisz stars as the identical Mantle twins who are on a mission to change the way women give birth. If this sounds familiar, it’s the remake of the 1988 David Cronenberg sci-fi film starring Jeremy Irons. The six-episode series premieres April 21 on Amazon Prime and it looks like you can binge the entire series at once.
Trailer of the Week - Love & Death (HBO Max)
Yes, yes. This has been done before. HBO is finally releasing their series based on Candy Montgomery. In all fairness in case you thought HBO was being a copycat — Jessica Biel and her team pushed through and got their adaptation on the true crime story about the killer housewife from Texas in first at Hulu while HBO took a little more time — even though both were optioned at the same time. Love & Death stars Elizabeth Olsen (WandaVision) and Jesse Plemons (Black Mirror) as two churchgoing lovers in small town Texas when one of them decides to murder their best friend with an axe.
Reboot of the Week - Starsky & Hutch (FOX)
That cheesy, but highly addictive 70s cop show (yeah, I watched it) is getting the reboot treatment at FOX. This reimagined version will take two female detectives — Sasha Starsky and Nicole Hutchinson, on adventures solving crimes in a quirky desert city. The two besties will be on a mission to solve the mystery of who sent their fathers to prison 15 years ago for a crime they of course did not commit. The original ABC series (1975-1979) starred David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser (now streaming on Amazon Prime) and in 2004 Todd Phillips directed the film adaptation starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. This series is currently in development — stay tuned for more updates.
Book Adaptation of the Week - Daisy Jones & The Six
I’ll read anything Taylor Jenkins Reid writes and so excited for the adaptation of her novel "Daisy Jones and the Six” starring Elvis’ granddaughter, the very talented Riley Keough (The Girlfriend Experience) and Sam Claflin (Peaky Blinders) as leads in a 70s band (think Fleetwood Mac) and their journey from unknowns to superstars. Series premieres March 3 on Amazon Prime.
