It’s the weekend, let’s binge!

Feeling like those kids on the stairs in The Sound of Music when they’re singing “Goodbye” and “Goodnight”, except my song is about the end of July as we wind down this lukewarm month of television. Hmm — anything stick out for you? I had some slight qualms about Special Ops: Lioness on Paramount+, but I’m intrigued by it enough to keep watching. Lincoln Lawyer (Netflix) is always a fun stream and I’m really glad I watched the Keith Haring documentary on Roku. Refresh With This Prosecco Cocktail x Z: The Beginning of Everything 🍸

A cocktail made of a refreshing burst of lemon is just the thing to quench your thirst in this heatwave. I went to happy hour at this posh little place on the first floor of the Sienna House hotel in Scottsdale, AZ and had a Chelley Spritz which is sort of a nickname for Limoncello. The cocktail is super easy to make at home — all you need is: 

• 2oz Limoncello

• 3 oz Prosecco

• 1 oz club soda

• 1 cup ice

• optional sprig of mint and 3 slices of lemon for garnish 🍋

I was thinking of what to watch next after I finally finished Daisy Jones & The Six (loved!) on Amazon Prime and I think I’ll return to a little series that lasted one season titled Z: The Beginning of Everything starring Christina Ricci as Zelda Fitzgerald, the wild, beautiful and unpredictable wife of Gatsby writer F. Scott Fitzergerald. It’s an origin story of how the two met and their complicated relationship that often mirrored those in his stories, especially that one I did my 11th grade term paper on — “Tender is the Night” (got an A+, by the way). Ricci is one of the producers of the series who brought it to Amazon Prime after reading Therese Anne Fowler’s novel of the same name. Both the novel and series take creative liberty, not always adhering to the fashion and music rules of the Roaring 20s, so you’ll probably note a lot of historical discrepancies when watching the series.
