The Weekend Binge: What I’m Streaming (and Drinking) This Weekend!
Friday Happy Dance, just add wine!
Another week down in 2023! So many new premieres to catch up with this weekend including Bravo’s triple threat, everyone’s favorite stalker on Netflix, and the jury is still out on Your Place or Mine….are we all going to stream Reese & Ashton’s new rom-com this weekend?
Here’s what’s premiering this weekend on all the streamers (scroll down for my wine pick of the week!)
What’s New To Stream On Paramount+/Showtime?
At Midnight is a rom-com about two people who have made the safe choice not to fall in love. Stars Monica Barbaro (Top Gun: Maverick) and Anders Holm (How To Be Single) and co-stars comedian Whitney Cummings. Now Streaming.
What I’m Streaming: I just recently finished the entire Twilight Zone series (the OG black and white) - I loved it and now I’m revisiting another classic — I Love Lucy, probably my favorite series of all time!
What’s New To Stream On Peacock?
Bravo’s triple threat — the premieres of The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Season 13, Vanderpump Rules: Season 10, and Summer House: Season 7. It’s about damn time for another table flipping from Teresa! Now Streaming.
I’m Still Streaming - Poker Face, but gonna get on Tar this weekend! It’s time to catch up on the nominees.
What’s New To Stream On Amazon Prime?
Somebody I Used To Know is a film that stars Alison Brie (Mad Men) and Jay Ellis (Insecure) about Allie, a workaholic who returns to her hometown and reconnects with her ex Sean. Allie begins to question everything when she meets Cassidy, a girl who reminds her of the person she used to be. Now Streaming.
What I’m Streaming: I just finished The Peripheral, and besides a couple of lengthy episodes, overall it’s a solid series and I really enjoyed it. What shall I watch next on Amazon Prime? Thinking of the film WildCat about a young British soldier back from Afghanistan and suffering from PTSD fosters a baby ocelot.
What’s New To Stream On Hulu?
Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence is a docuseries that tells the scathing account of a group of Sarah Lawrence college students that fall under the influence of a friend’s father, Larry Ray. The series follows the cult from its origins through it’s aftermath that is still unfolding. Now Streaming.
Also New To Stream On Hulu - The Storied Life of AJ Fikry, A Million Little Things: Final Season premiere, Not Dead Yet: season premiere.
Still Streaming - The Dropout, but will probably squeeze in The Storied Life of AJ Fikry since it’s based on the book by the author of Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow which I just finished reading and loved.
Apple TV+
Nothing new to stream on Apple TV+. I am about to finish WeCrashed which I’m finding so fascinating and will start the final season of The Servant next (will I ever figure out what the heck this show is about?).
What’s New To Stream on Netflix?
You: Season 4, Part 1 premiered last night and I can’t wait to start watching it. Although the past two seasons have paled in comparison to the first, I’m always down to watch a little Joe Goldberg and see what new stalking techniques he’s uncovered, lol. Now Streaming.
Still Streaming: The Crown, Season 4, but will start my Oscar countdown this weekend and get into All Quiet on the Western Front and some of the short films nominated they have included in their streaming lineup.
What’s New To Stream on STARZ?
The 2022 film Fall premieres that follows best friends Beck and Hunter as they embark on a journey to conquer their fear and push their limits after climbing 2,000 feet to the top of a remote and abandoned radio tower. Stranded, now their expert climbing skills are put to the test as they fight to survive the elements with little supplies and vertigo-inducing heights. Now Streaming.
What I’m Streaming: Men In Kilts. Before the new season of Outlander arrives later sometime this year, I’m getting my Sam Heughan fix with this travel series where he explores Scotland and all its wonders with his bestie and Outlander co-star Graham McTavish.
What’s New To Stream On HBO Max/Discovery+ ?
Puppy Bowl XIX is the cute alternative to watching the Super Bowl this weekend. Streaming Sunday, February 12. If you want to stream the Super Bowl you must have live streaming services like YouTube TV or Hulu Live or NFL+.
What I’m Streaming: The Last of Us. Love it so far. I’m mean daddy Pedro Pascal can star in a Liberty Mutual commercial and I would love it.
What’s New To Stream On Disney+
National Treasure: Edge of History Season Finale starring Catherine Zeta-Jones. I haven’t watched this series nor have I seen any of the films (I know, what?), but in case this isn’t for you Disney+ is premiering a ton of new content this weekend from Lifetime movies (yes, Christmas movies!) and even the Lindsay Lohan TV movie Liz & Dick where she plays Elizabeth Taylor.
What I’m Streaming: Watched Wakanda Forever and it was definitely one of the better Marvel films, but I’m currently streaming Hawkeye starring Jeremy Renner. (Get Well Soon!).
What’s New To Stream On AMC+ ?
I love the Graham Norton Show and this week he’ll have Oscar nominees Michelle Yeoh and Austin Butler on his sofa — can’t wait! Streaming Feb. 12.
Still Streaming: The Writer’s Room and then I’m going to dive into Interview with the Vampire next.
MGM+
Nothing new streaming this weekend, but I’m really loving the new season of Godfather of Harlem. I’ve always been a fan of mafia movies and this series depicts what Harlem was like in the sixties during the Civil Rights movement and the fight between the Italian and the Black mafia over control of Harlem.
Wine of the Week - Culterra Cabernet Sauvignon
Just recently discovered this 91 point cab out of Paso Robles. Tasting notes of sweet, black currants with hints of cardamom and cola. Full bodied, well-balanced and has a satiny feel on the palate. Great wine for everyday binge watching. Under $20!
Love these suggestions! I just started streaming You tonight - thank you! That cult docuseries sounds terrifying - can’t wait to check it out. Obsessed already with the new season of Vanderpump! Ooh the original Twilight Zone- GREAT suggestion!! Thank you!!!
