Sip & Stream: 2021 Roustabout Meritage Paso Robles x The Witches of Eastwick
One of my very favorite films of all time is back on streaming on MAX. The Witches of Eastwick stars Susan Sarandon, Michelle Pfeiffer, Cher and Jack Nicholson. Probably my most favorite thing about this film is the score. John Williams is just brilliant in every thing he composes and while this might be not his most famous score (he’s done pretty much every Steven Spielberg and Star Wars movie), it is absolutely the most magical to me.
Fun Fact: in the scene where Jack Nicholson walks into the ice cream shoppe, that is actually John Williams’ whistling dubbed over Jack’s.
I recently discovered this Meritage at Trader Joe’s for just $7.99. I love when I find good wine under $10 and this 2021 Roundabout is a great buy. What I love about it is that it has these robust flavors right from the start — blackberry, dark fruits, a leathery feel and the finish is quite long with hints of tobacco. It’s very easy to drink and a great red wine to get you into that fall feeling. Paso Robles is probably my favorite wine region at the moment, they are producing some really great wines that rival those big Napa vintners.
