Woman of the Hour (Netflix)
Anatomy of Lies (Peacock)

My weekend watchlist blends true crime, scaries, and comedy. I’m praying Woman of the Hour, directed by and starring Anna Kendrick lives up to my expectations. It’s based on the true story of the “Dating Game” serial killer. If you want to learn more about this true crime, a documentary on AMC+ titled Dating Death dives deeper into this story.

Sip & Stream : Chandon California Sparkling Rosé + Dominick Dunne: After the Party
Did you catch Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story? Although he appeared throughout the series, Dominick Dunne (played oh so perfectly by Nathan Lane) had an episode focused directly on him. Dunne was a popular true crime writer who was propelled into this career after the shocking and brutal death of his daughter.
He wrote for Vanity Fair magazine and covered such infamous trials as the Menendez case and the O.J. Simpson trials. On one of my random searches on Prime Video (I can never find anything good to watch on there!), I came across a documentary on Dominick Dunne that chronicles his life and his rise to journalistic fame. His son, actor/director Griffin Dunne wrote a memoir about the Dunnes titled “The Friday Afternoon Club” which also talks about Dunne’s sister, writer Joan Didion.
Chandon California Sparkling Rosé $17.99
One of the joys of life is finding an easily accessible sparkling wine under $20 that you can pick up at pretty much any wine retailer. I love the Chandon brand of sparkling wines as they are more on the dry side. This one has a bold vibrancy to it that tastes more like a sparkling Pinot Noir.
Happy Streaming 📺 🍷
