The Weekend Binge: 'Anyone But You', 'Dead Boy Detectives', Streaming on a Prayer with Bon Jovi, 'The Big Door Prize', A Zin for Earth Day + A 80s Boy Band Doc
It's the weekend, let's binge!
It’s the last weekend in April and in a few days you’ll have a new streaming guide for May delivered to your inbox! Make sure to share with friends and family so they are always in the know. “There’s nothing to watch on TV” is so 1992.
It’s a light streaming weekend which means you can catch up on shows like The Gentleman in Moscow (Paramount+), Fallout (Prime Video), and Baby Reindeer (Netflix) before fresh streams arrive.
More to catch up on are all the new nature docs that arrived on April 22 for Earth Day. Most every streaming platform has something inspired by Mother Nature for bingeing, but you can’t go wrong with the award-winning docs on Disney+/Hulu from National Geographic. Streaming new this week include Tiger and Secrets of the Octopus.
Keep scrolling for my sip & stream of the weekend which includes a biodynamic wine from Sonoma. You can’t go wrong with this label. Everything this winemaker puts out is top notch. I’m also adding this 80s boy band (ya know the cool boy bands of eighties) documentary to my watchlist.

Sip & Stream: 2022 Seghesio Vineyards Zinfandel, Sonoma + Duran Duran: There’s Something You Should Know
In honor of Earth Day this week (April 22 was the official day), let’s focus on drinking some good biodynamic/sustainable wines. Seghesio Family Vineyards out of Sonoma, CA is one of those wines. They specialize in Zinfandel, but their library of wines are all a must-drink. They practice sustainability on their vineyards. Here’s just a blip about their practices:
“Seghesio Family Vineyards has always thrived to protect the environment and their communities. It has become clear to us that the emission of Green House Gases (GHG) not only is the biggest environmental threat, but also that the majority of environmental advances are tied to their ability to emit less GHG. They have embarked on a fundamental transformation of how they grow grapes and make wines and have joined international organizations such as the Porto Protocol and the International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA). They have committed to reduce their GHG emissions by 50% by 2030 and 100% by 2050.”
I got to visit their winery a couple of summers ago, and it was a lovely tasting experience. Highly recommend. If you can’t find their wines at your local wine shop, then head over to Wine.Com - they have an entire section of biodynamic wines for purchase including this label.
Tasting Notes: lots of personality. Notes of blackberry, licorice and orange peel. 93 Points Wine Spectator.
Duran Duran: There’s Something You Should Know
I love a good rockumentary and after seeing the Wham! doc from Netflix which took me back to my childhood, I’m hungry like a wolf for the new Duran Duran one premiering this weekend. Yes, I love a bad pun. I only got a chance to see Duran Duran live in my twenties when I won tickets off a local radio station to see them film a music video at the Santa Monica Airport Hangar. They ended up playing a full concert for the crowd.
Here’s one of their classic music videos: RIO
Interesting Fact: Frontman Simon Le Bon is an avid sailor. His yacht, DRUM, capsized during the FastNet Race in 1985. Le Bon and five of his crew members were trapped underwater, but survived because luckily there was an air pocket under the overturned vessel. All were rescued by the Royal Navy.
Happy Streaming! 🍷 📺
What a glorious list of recommendations, thank you! I’m especially looking forward to sister bonaface.
