Fan-girling Over Daisy Jones & The Six
After reading the novel from Taylor Jenkins Reid, I was looking forward to the series adaptation on Amazon Prime from producer Reese Witherspoon (who also chose the novel for her Hello Sunshine Book Club). When you read the book you immediately think of Fleetwood Mac as the story takes on the L.A. music scene in the 1970s centered around one up-and-coming band that is trying to find its way through heartbreak and sudden stardom. Of course there is a lot of intermingling within the band much like those stories you hear of Fleetwood Mac. The first three episodes are now up on Amazon Prime with new episodes streaming weekly every Friday. To be honest, I had low expectations going into this series as itβs really hard to adapt anything as good as a book (Little Fires Everywhere was one of the few book to TV adaptations that I thought was as good if not better than the book), but I was surprised that Daisy Jones & The Six really pulled it off. I thought the casting was great, especially Riley Keough (Daisy) and Suki Waterhouse (Karen). The series is one big walk down memory lane for those who grew up or were a part of L.A.βs music scene on Sunset Blvd. The music played throughout the series is a dream β The Byrds, Carole King, Todd Rundgren. And unlike other fictional music biopic shows the original music recorded by the fictional band, Daisy Jones & The Six is not bad at all, in fact itβs pretty catchy and can be download on iTunes (11 songs, full album named βAuroraβ).Β

From Slayed by Buffy to Slaying Zombies, Pedro Pascal Is Streamingβs Sweetheart
Sarah Michelle Gellar, mother of vampire slayers shared a throwback photo of her and a young Pedro Pascal, daddy to us all, on the set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He only lasted a hot minute on the series before getting killed off, but certainly not forgotten.
It wasnβt until he landed the role Oberyn Martell in the popular series Game of Thrones did his career really take off like a rocket. The GOT script landed in his lap indirectly and with a phone call to his bestie, Sarah Paulson (who called her bestie Amanda Peet β married to one of the creators of GOT), Pascal was able to land an audition and the rest is history. Now he is in two of the most popular series currently streaming β The Mandalorian (Disney+) and The Last of Us (HBO Max). He has five projects currently in production including β The Uninvited with Rufus Sewell and Elizabeth Reaser, Strange Way of Life from director Pedro AlmodΓ³var co-starring Ethan Hawke and a series My Dentistβs Murder Trial co-starring Stranger Thingsβ David Harbour. I also recommend the series Narcos on Netflix which Pascal starred in about Columbian drug lord Pablo Escobar.Β

Things To Do When Snowed Out β Drink Wine!
Iβm currently visiting my little nephew who is turning one soon and lives in a cute little town in Connecticut (think Hallmark Channel Christmas movie with a little Witches of Eastwick). The first night we got here it snowed a few inches and coming from California, I havenβt seen anything quite like it since once upon a very long ski trip ago. I was able to get out a few times during the day to walk my sisterβs cute dog coincidentally named Buffy after (you got it!) Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Here she is slaying snowβ¦. P.S. (please donβt eat the yellow snow). At night we all drank wine (not the baby or dog, lol) and we stocked up on some of our faves including Banshee Mordecai β a bold, dark-fruited wine with aromas of spice, black tea, cigar and violets and a mouthwatering blend of red berries, plums and herbs.Β
