Pass the cosmos 🍸
Happy And Just Like That…premiere week.
The second season of the Sex and the City sequel series And Just Like That… premieres this Thursday night, June 22 on MAX. This season promises to be more on the lighthearted side after the sad, sudden death of Big and expect some surprise appearances from the ghosts of SATC past like Aidan and Samantha. I’m so excited - I’ve got my cosmopolitan, tutu and name plate necklace all ready for the stream!
25 Years of Sex and the City
This month also marks the 25th anniversary of the iconic show’s premiere at HBO back on June 6, 1998 when audiences were first introduced to sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw and her unforgettable friends.
Did You Know?
Sex and the City was the first cable series to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series
Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon were both pregnant during Season 5
Cynthia Nixon does not have pierced ears. All of her earring were clip-ons and most had to be sent to a jeweler to turn them into clip-ons
Carrie’s last name is never mentioned in Candace Bushnell’s book. Bradshaw was created for the TV series

Happy National Martini Day! 🍸
While a cosmopolitan is not technically a martini (you need vodka and vermouth for that) it is a fashionable transition to celebrate National Martini Day. The most iconic character to ever sport a martini in hand? James Bond, of course!

This Day In History: Juneteenth
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the date Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and delivered General Order No. 3 announcing the end of legalized slavery in Texas. There are wonderful documentaries, films and reality programs enriching our understanding of history and can provide a more open-minded and inclusive foundation for building a better future.

An Infamous Day At A Park Has A Silver Lining…
Back on March 25, 2020, a cell phone video went viral when a woman phoned the police from New York’s Central Park accusing a black man of threatening her. She was irresponsibly walking her dog unleashed in an area of the park where dogs are required to be leashed to protect the wildlife. Birder Christian Cooper, who was there birdwatching, had informed her of the rule and “Central Park Karen” went ballistic in a now infamous viral video. “Karen” lost her job and every bird’s hero, Christian Cooper is now the host of his own show The Extraordinary Birder with Christian Cooper, a travel series in which Cooper explores rare birds across the world. Premieres June 21 on Disney+ as part of National Geographic. 🐦
This Day In Movie History: Batman Returns starring Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito and Michelle Pfeiffer premiered in theaters
Did You Know? Michelle Pfeiffer said that her Catwoman costume was vacuum sealed once she was fitted into it for scenes, so she actually had only a short amount of time to perform before she would have to have it opened or she could become lightheaded and pass out. She also admitted that when she first learned to use the whip, she accidentally cut her trainer’s face with it. 😬

Happy Birthday Kathleen Turner 🎉 (June 16, 1954)
When I say “they just don’t make them like this anymore”, I am only referring to the romantic-adventure comedy Romancing the Stone co-starring Michael Douglas. It was one of my favorite films of that time. Although it is not available to stream, you can rent or buy it on Amazon Prime or Apple TV+.
Happy Birthday Zoe Saldana 🎉
Zoe Saldana is an actress who has been in more blockbuster franchises than any other star — Avatar, Guardians of the Galaxy, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Star Trek. Wow 🤩

It’s Summer! Let’s Chill The Red Wine….
I’m not one of those ice cubes in my wine type of gals, but my new thing is wine spritzers. It’s perfect for the summer months and those upcoming patriotic holidays.

pour red wine to fill half the glass
pour club soda to fill the other half
