Hello June!

Things are starting to heat up and I’m not only talking about the weather (currently I’m in Arizona and it’s 101 degrees! 🥵 ). June streaming includes a few highly anticipated hot titles including Presumed Innocent starring Jake Gyllenhaal and The Acolyte, Disney+’s new series from the Star Wars universe.

It wouldn’t be a hot chef summer without mentioning season three of FX’s The Bear will also be premiering this month.

In addition to plenty of new films and series, June is Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈 , so expect plenty of new and classic films, series, and documentaries featured on every streaming platform. Some notable specials not to miss…

The Paris Summer Olympics are coming!

What better way to prepare for this global event beginning in July than to take a look back in history with Hulu’s new documentary Breakin’ on the One about the landmark event that changed the face of American culture forever: the 1981 breaking battle between the Rocksteady Crew and the Dynamic Rockers at New York’s Lincoln Center. Breakdancing will make its debut this summer as an Olympic sport.

Hot For Brats, Dragons, and Drug Lords

My streaming picks for this month include a documentary about my favorite period of my childhood: watching movies featuring the Brat Pack. You know, Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, and Sixteen Candles. Brat Pack member Andrew McCarthy has crafted a new documentary about the rise and fame of The Brat Pack. The next chapter of Game of Throne’s spinoff House of the Dragon is premiering on Max this month, and a new series about the drug cartels set against the backdrop of a glitzy hotel in Miami drops this month on MGM+.

Iconic Women: Stream Their Stories

Two documentary films that I’m looking forward to streaming this month are the highly anticipated life stories of Celine Dion and Diane von Furstenberg. So much has already been revealed about the Celine Dion documentary, but I’m looking forward to streaming it in full, instead of reading tidbits in Us Weekly.

Also, legendary fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg (inventor of the wrap dress) is also sharing her story in the upcoming Hulu doc Woman in Charge. Also, a powerhouse of the eighties pop scene Cyndi Lauper will get her life story told in the upcoming Paramount+ documentary, Let the Canary Sing.
