Bob Ross’ First TV Painting ‘A Walk in the Woods’ Selling For $9.8 Million

Own a piece of iconic “I’m-pretending-to-be-sick-and-staying-home-from-school-so-I’m-gonna-watch-Bob-Ross-paint-happy-little-trees-all-day-and-eat-junk-food” TV history when The Joy of Painting artist and star Bob Ross’ first oil painting hits the marketplace. The original “A Walk in the Woods” was painted by Ross in 1983 on-air, kicking off his ever-popular PBS series that ran until 1994. The painting is currently listed on the Modern Artifact website for $9.85 million. Ross passed in 1995 and signed all his paintings “Ross” in red. Real Life ‘Succession’ - Rupert Murdoch Steps Down As Fox News Chairman

Rupert Murdoch, the enigmatic father-figure behind Fox News Corp has resigned as of yesterday. In a real life Succession story (many believe the series to be based off this family), Rupert chooses his son Lachlan Murdoch as successor. This is sort of like Roman, the wild and loose-canon son of the Emmy-winning series taking over the company which could be one of the many reasons why Wall Street is held with a big question mark as to what Lachlan’s presence will have on the stock market. Lachlan will take over as sole chairman of both Fox and Fox News Corp. Rupert Murdoch still owns 40% of the voting stock at Fox which will be handed down to his three other children once Rupert passes thus leaving the Succession twist — could the three children vote to have Fox restructured in their favor, vote Lachlan out or even sell Fox? The Curse’ Starring Emma Stone To Premiere on Showtime After Screening At The New York Film Festival

Looks like an official entry at the New York Film Festival will get the streaming treatment sooner than later. The Curse which stars Benny Safdie, Nathan Fielder, and Emma Stone will stream on Paramount+ with Showtime later this year. While it premiered at a film festival, The Curse is actually a sort of horror comedy series that focuses on a newly married couple who has their own HGTV show and believes a curse in their house is adding friction to their relationship. The series is written and directed by Fielder who also created the HBO series, The Rehearsal.

‘Beacon 23’ Starring ‘Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey Will Stream On MGM+

It looks like Beacon 23, the sci-fi psychological thriller that was once going to premiere as a Spectrum Original before the network shut down, is now heading to Amazon-owned MGM+. The series is based on the novel by Hugh Howey. It takes place in the 23rd century where two people become trapped inside a remote lighthouse at the edge of the universe. The season will be eight episodes long and has already been renewed for a second season. The series is slated to premiere with its first two episodes on November 12 on MGM+.

5. Vanna White Signs New Wheel of Fortune Contract With More Money!

Famous letter-turner Vanna White extends her Wheel contract for another two years and it comes with a pay raise. While those numbers have not been disclosed, she was receiving $3 million a year without a pay raise in over 18 years on the show. The producers got a lot of online slack, accused of being sexist for not increasing White’s salary for nearly two decades.
