PSA to Streamers: 💵 Pay Your Writers! ✍️
Have you or a loved one been affected by the new Netflix password-sharing rule? The streamers are out of control. As someone who subscribes to 12 streaming platforms, it's a little much to ask to stop sharing your password with a close friend or family member especially since Netflix isn't even all that (Netflix honors quantity over quality). Scroll down for more price increases coming to more streamers below. Eek! Is this the summer of streaming inflation or what? As the writer's strike continues, streamers are beginning to feel the pull of not having enough new content to premiere. Your favorite series like The White Lotus and Euphoria are getting delayed. Season 2 of The Last of Us and Season 3 of Euphoria are now looking to premiere in 2025. Game of Thrones Alum Indira Varma To Star In BBC’s Doctor Who
Actress Indira Varma who played Ellaria Sand in HBO’s Game of Thrones is taking on a new royal role as The Duchess in BBC’s Doctor Who. Details of her role are still under wraps, but streamers on the left side of the pond came stream Doctor Who on Disney+ (its new official home) starting November 2023. This will coincide with the 60th anniversary of the iconic character in which BBC will air three special episodes and feature the return of star David Tennant.

5. #Scandoval Could Excite Vanderpump Rules’ First Ever Emmy Nomination
Never have I had so much FOMO as now me not currently streaming Vanderpump Rules. I think the last season I streamed it was when Lala Kent first started as hostess at Sur. The recent surge in ratings for the reality drama series have sent a lightning bolt across social media which will likely trickle down to academy voters much like the frenzy around Bravo’s other hit show Below Deck did and garnered its first Emmy nomination for Best Reality Series last year.

Streamer News 📺
Netflix cracks down on password sharing — Were you affected? Here’s the scoop! You might have seen an image like the above that one of my family members sent me asking if this is your household as there can only be one household per account. The one account can access Netflix on any device using the same internet. However if the account holder wants to log into a device outside the internet (like when traveling) they will be able to do so. If friends or family want to use your account, the primary account holder can add them for an additional $7.99 (up to two accounts if you have premium Netflix), but they will only be able to stream one device at a time and only have one user profile. Unsolicited Opinion: How about Netflix worries about paying their writers before having their subscribers pay up for friends and family. The greed is loud here.
Paramount+ with Showtime Will Launch In June — If you currently subscribe to Showtime, note that the app will shudder come June 27 when Viacom CBS bundles both Paramount+ and Showtime into one app, generically known as Paramount+ with Showtime. The plan will increase from $9.99/month to $11.99/month.
Starz Increases Monthly Subscription Fee Ahead of Outlander Premiere Unsolicited Opinion: Why? STARZ barely has any current original content and you offer one channel. AMC+ offers five channels and is $8.99/month.
Sling TV Offers Free Week of FX Movie Channel Before May 30 — Sign up for Sling TV and get access to FX’s entire movie catalogue for one week free if you sign up before the May 30 deadline.
Comcast Offers $20 Monthly Streaming Service with 60 Channels and Peacock — another new streaming subscription to consider. Comcast announced Now TV, which includes more than 40 live channels including Hallmark, A&E, Discovery and 20+ local live channels (with ads) like NBC. Now TV will also include Peacock Premium with ads.
HBO Is Now ‘Max’ — as of this Tuesday, HBO Max has been rebranded as Max and features additional content including hundreds of episodes from Discovery+ . The streamer promises to update its content going forward with more than 40 new movie titles and TV seasons each month.

TV Real Estate News 📺 🏡 : The Brady Bunch House is For Sale!
For a fresh $5.5 million, you could own one of the most iconic homes in history. Used as just the facade for the opening credits, The Brady Bunch house in North Hollywood was purchased by HGTV and revamped to the original glory of the 70s TV series by HGTV’s celebrity designers. Built in 1959, the home features five bedrooms, five baths and that infamous staircase spanning over 5,000 square feet. Talk about an Air BnB dream home.

TV Cat News 📺 🐱 - Benedict Cumberbatch, Claire Foy To Voice Animated Adaptation ‘Mog’
Yep, you’ll see it here first. TV Cat News! Promise this won’t be every week, but it’s worth mentioning that award-winning actors Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) and Claire Foy (The Crown) will voice characters in the upcoming adaptation of Judith Kerr’s book “Mog”. Cumberbatch and Foy will voice Mog’s owners Mr. and Mrs. Thomas in an animated adaptation (more specifically a hand-drawn film) titled “Mog’s Christmas”. The book series was originally published in 1970 and has been in print for over 50 years. Kerr passed in 2019 and was also remembered by her memoir “When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit”, her personal account of escaping Nazi Germany. “Mog’s Christmas” will air later this year on Channel 4 in the UK, but Universal owns all rights so hopefully will air soon after on Peacock.
Simply The Best: Remembering Tina Turner
An icon of the music industry passed Wednesday at the age of 83. Tina Turner celebrated over 50 years in music and film and had a life as storied as the songs she performed. I highly recommend the documentary ‘Tina’ on Max which details her rise to fame with incredible footage both on stage and behind-the-scenes.
