Okay, so maybe you noticed I took a week off from TV news for some traveling (ahem wine tasting 🍷 , what else?), but just FYI, last week was not that newsy. I’ll recap the renewals and cancellations from last week below (okay and post the new Outlander trailer!).
Note: HBO Max is becoming just MAX as of May 23 so going forward all films and series premiering and news about the streaming platform will be named as MAX.

Selena Gomez To Host Two New Shows On The Food Network
You may have streamed Selena’s chef series Selena + Chef on MAX, but now she’s headed over to the Food Network (within the same Warner Bros./Discovery family) for two new series. The first is a holiday-inspired series that will stream later this year that blends cooking and entertaining for the spirited season. The next untitled project will have Selena visiting the top chefs in the country to cook their most popular dishes in their own kitchens.
King Arthur Series ‘The Winter King’ Coming To MGM+
A new spin on the classic King Arthur legend is coming to MGM+ as a 10-episode series. It’s described as a “bold and revisionist take on well-loved Arthurian legends.” The series is filmed in the UK and set in the fifth century before Britain was unityed and the land of a brutal landscape of war and warriors. It’s scheduled to premiere on August 20.
Conan O’ Brien To Star In New Travel Series For MAX
Former late-night talk show host, Conan O’Brien is returning to TV in a new international travel series. Conan O’Brien Must Go is a docuseries that will feature Conan visiting new friends across the world that he’s met through this podcast. The four-episode season is currently in production.
Jason Momoa To Reign As Shark Week’s Master of Ceremonies
Shark Week is returning for its 35th years and what better way to celebrate than have Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa act as Master of Ceremonies. Shark Week will begin on July 11, 2023. It is the longest-running cable programming event in history. Jason Momoa will next be seen in DC’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom premiering December 20 in theaters.
Weeds and Nurse Jackie Sequels In Development at Showtime
Fierce ladies of cable are making a return in two of Showtime’s most popular series — Weeds and Nurse Jackie. While no plot details have been revealed, original cast members are expected to return. Weeds original aired for eight seasons (2005-2012) and Nurse Jackie aired for seven seasons (2008-2015). Both shows are expected to act as sequels to the originals and join Dexter and Billions as Showtime series that are getting the spinoff/sequel treatment.
So Long, Farewell…
Molly Burnett who plays Detective Grace Muncy will no longer be a series regular on Law & Order: SVU beginning next season (Season 25). If you watched the 2-hour SVU/Organized Crime crossover ever, it was made pretty clear as she accepted a new job outside Olivia Benson’s team.
